The Saint-Gobain Abrasives North America location in Worcester, AM is looking for an intern who is available for a Inventory Control & Process Improvement internship for the summer, May-August 2026.
The internship provides professional development opportunities and valuable applied learning in a manufacturing production setting. The individual will work under the direction the Production Planning & Control Manager.
This is an opportunity for an intern to get exposure to various aspects that they have learned in the classroom with the real-life experiences of activities at Saint-Gobain Bonded & Super Abrasives. This internship will also provide:
• Hands on experience improving inventory accuracy and operational controls
- Practical exposure to process mapping, optimization, and change implementation
- Experience creating training and documentation used in real operational settings
- Collaboration with operations leaders on business‑critical improvement initiatives
Description du poste
This summer internship supports Bonded Abrasives Operations through an inventory control and process improvement initiative focused on reducing mis‑reporting across the BA business. The intern will analyze current inventory reporting practices, map existing processes, and help design improved workflows and training materials to strengthen inventory accuracy and control. This role offers hands‑on exposure to operations, process innovation, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a two or four-year accredited degree program, preferably in Industrial Engineering; Operations Management; Supply Chain Management; Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to organize information and document processes clearly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred: Coursework or experience in operations, inventory management, or process improvement
- Preferred: Familiarity with process mapping, continuous improvement, or lean concepts
- Preferred: Interest in manufacturing operations and business process optimization

Essential Functions
- Develop improved inventory control processes aimed at reducing mis‑reporting
- Create training materials and documentation to support consistent execution of inventory processes across BA
- Deliver clearly mapped current‑state and future‑state processes to support sustained improvement
- Map current inventory reporting and review processes
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and root causes of mis‑reporting
- Support the design of streamlined and optimized inventory reporting workflows
- Assist in developing training materials to reinforce improved inventory processes
- Collaborate with BA Operations stakeholders to validate process changes and recommendations
- Document findings and recommendations in a clear, user‑friendly format
- Other duties as assigned.
