GENERAL FUNCTION

The objective of this position is to support on-going logistics initiatives throughout the Siding Products Group through a rotation of different departments:

1. This position is a flexible function in that the analyst could be assigned to one or some of the following departments: Transportation, Production & Distribution Planning, Customer Service (Order/Data Management Support), and Warehousing.
2. Day to day transact in planning, transportation, and warehousing functions to facilitate business operations.
3. Assemble data flows for the warehouses, transport lanes, and production to make recommendations for capacities and performance standards.
4. Utilize current and future tools to manage Inter-plant inventory levels while maintaining agreed-upon Customer Service levels (fill rates & lead times) and managing Inter-plant Stock Transfers [e.g. balancing product availability and warehouse utilization to meet customer service goals]
5. Maintain master production planning data to best utilize our planning systems
6. Develop data query tools to help develop management reports and provide data for senior level management decisions

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehousing/Fulfillment Duties

• Track fulfillment metrics, maintain scorecards, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead warehouse reviews to address operational risks, bottlenecks, and service concerns.
• Align forecasts, inventory, production, storage, and shipping capacity; support annual budgeting.
• Manage warehouse projects and review third-party logistics providers and leased facilities.

Planning Function Duties

• Build Power BI dashboards that turn supply chain data into actionable recommendations.
• Manage production schedules in SAP and Manufacturing Workbench, balancing demand, inventory, capacity, and working capital.
• Partner with Customer Service to support accurate order commitments and product availability.
• Monitor schedule adherence, fill rates, production plans, and capacity against business targets.
• Maintain accurate planning data in SAP and Logility.
• Analyze item movement, lifecycle, obsolete inventory, forecast accuracy, and demand variability.

Transportation

• Use the transportation management system to create and tender shipments, coordinate with carriers, monitor delivery, and resolve operational issues.
• Develop transportation reports and dashboards covering carrier performance, freight costs, service levels, and operating trends.
• Collect, validate, and combine data from multiple systems to provide useful business insights.

Customer Service

• Analyze order-entry and order-management data to identify trends, efficiencies, and process improvements.
• Support daily departmental priorities, goals, and seasonal business needs.

Other special projects as required

• Identify opportunities to improve customer service, working capital, and cost performance.
• Provide data analysis and reporting as business needs arise.
• Complete assigned projects and present final internship results to the executive team.

A rising junior or senior in accredited college/university pursuing degree (Bachelors or Masters) within Business/Supply Chain/Operations Management
