Description du poste
The Saint-Gobain SGP manufacturing site in Northampton, MA is looking for an intern who is available for an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) internship for June 2026 - December 2026. The manufacturing Internship with Saint-Gobain provides professional development opportunities and valuable applied learning in a manufacturing production setting within the environmental, health, safety fields. The individual will work under the direction of our Plant Manager.
This is an opportunity for an intern to get exposure to various aspects that they have learned in the classroom with the real-life experiences of activities at Saint-Gobain Specialty Grains & Powders, which has a worldwide presence.
This position requires an understanding & utilization of the principles and theories of the discipline and their application that might normally be acquired through a pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in an Occupational Health/Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent required
- Student in good academic standing
- Must be junior-level undergraduate or graduate student, or equivalent experience
- Must have ability to work June through August, full-time preferred but part-time may be considered
- Must possess the ability to work safely and effectively within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills
- Must possess great people skills in order to convey safety procedures and protocols to all levels of the organization
- Ability to be proactive and display self-initiative
- Previous industrial experience or manufacturing knowledge is a plus
- Previous EHS experience or general knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental regulations is preferred

Description du profil
This individual will be focused on assistance on a variety of EHS functions, including but not limited to:
- Focus on continuing to motivate team members and emphasize a safety-first culture
- Encourage employee participation (SMAT, Risk Assessments) and review submissions
- Identify action items as a result of employee suggestions and concerns
- Coordinate the rapid closure of EHS action items
- Lead safety committee meetings on a regular basis
- Track EHS KPI metrics
- Present EHS topics to plant during town hall presentations
- Participate in incident response and investigations
- Perform new employee EHS orientations
- Ensure employees receive ongoing EHS training, which may include hosting training sessions with employees
- Participate in project teams
- Various EHS data reporting, as needed
- Assist with various EHS trainings at the site
