Our Interns play an important role in enhancing our business. When you join our company, you will work on projects that enhance your leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
The Process Engineering - Production Intern will work on a variety of projects for the Saint-Gobain Akron, Ohio site. This will be a highly interactive position which will help you develop your capabilities, time management, and communication skills. This experience will enhance your understanding of engineering in a manufacturing setting and provide a strong career footing. We are very excited to have you as part of our team.
Essential Functions
- Work closely with the operations team on continuous improvement initiatives including efficiency improvements, ergonomics, safety, and quality.
- Develop and update SOPs, work instructions and other documentation
- Work with employees on the production floor to improve the overall manufacturing processes by implementing engineered solutions.
- Provide support for production, quality, product development and other departments as required
- Assist team with identification of areas for improvement and suggests solutions
Description du profil
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing/enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office software package.
Preferred but Not Required Skills
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma.
- Experience with 2D/3D modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
