The Saint-Gobain Abrasives North America location in Worcester, AM is looking for an intern who is available for a 3D CAD Modeling & Automation internship for the summer, May-August 2026.
The internship provides professional development opportunities and valuable applied learning in a manufacturing production setting. The individual will work under the direction the BA/SA NA Product Design Manager.
This is an opportunity for an intern to get exposure to various aspects that they have learned in the classroom with the real-life experiences of activities at Saint-Gobain Bonded & Super Abrasives. This internship will also provide:
• Build real-world CAD automation skills by developing parametric models and automated outputs
• Strengthen technical documentation habits used in engineering design environments
• Collaborate across distributed teams (mix of on-site and remote stakeholders)
Description du poste
This internship supports the continuation of an auto part creation project with a focus on 3D modeling and scripting. The intern will partner with the Bonded & Super Abrasives NAM Design Teams to complete and finalize 3D models of SA products, develop parametric automation using Autodesk Inventor iLogic, and create/maintain supporting documentation
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a two or four-year accredited degree program, preferably in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engrg Technology, Industrial & Systems Engineering; Design Engineering Technology, or related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PPT, Excel, CAD
- Experience with or coursework involving 3D CAD modeling (Inventor preferred)
- Comfort learning or applying scripting/automation concepts (iLogic or similar rule-based scripting)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document work clearly
- Preferred: Hands-on exposure to Autodesk Inventor and/or iLogic
- Preferred: Experience with parametric modeling, design intent, and model configuration strategies
- Preferred: Familiarity with manufacturing drawings, component structures, and revision control (academic project experience acceptable), P

Essential Functions
- Collaborate with teams supporting 4290, 4240 (remotely), and 4070 (remotely) on finished goods and components
- Build and refine iLogic scripting in Autodesk Inventor for:
- Parametric manipulation of models
- Automated drawing/print generation
- Create and maintain documentation as needed (model logic, design intent, scripting notes, revision updates)
- Other duties as assigned.
