We are seeking a proactive and safety‑focused Warehouse Supervisor to lead day‑to‑day operations within our shipping, receiving, warehousing, and yard areas. In this role, you will provide hands‑on leadership to ensure efficient workflow, high service levels, strong safety performance, and a well‑trained, engaged team.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, enjoys developing people, and takes pride in creating organized, reliable, and customer‑focused warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce Saint‑Gobain safety standards and local policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify unsafe behaviors or conditions and take corrective actions.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are consistently followed and maintained.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee shipping procedures and ensure compliance by internal teams and external contractors.
- Support the development and maintenance of SOPs for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, and packaging materials.
- Inspect warehouse, yard, equipment, and fleet to ensure proper operation and adherence to standards.
- Submit work requisitions when maintenance or repairs are required.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure product meets standards.
- Work with planning to ensure customer demand is met on time.
Team Leadership
- Train warehouse personnel in safe, efficient work practices and build a cross‑trained team.
- Manage staffing, schedules, vacations, call‑outs, and other activities to ensure proper coverage.
- Support a strong team culture through clear expectations, visual standards, and regular audits.
- Address personnel issues promptly to maintain a positive and productive environment.
Continuous Improvement & Service
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve a customer service index above 95%.
- Partner with Shift Leaders to maintain Stock Record Accuracy above 98%.
- Analyze customer service failures (picking/loading errors, damage) and lead corrective actions.
- Support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager with budgeting and cost control.
Description du profil
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, shipping, or customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and general computer systems.
- SAP experience (strongly preferred).
- 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
- Experience using continuous improvement tools (Lean, Kaizen, etc.).
- Background in manufacturing (strongly preferred).
- Experience in gypsum wallboard manufacturing is an asset.
