The Technical Parts Coordinator manages critical spare parts to ensure equipment reliability and support maintenance operations. The role maintains accurate inventory levels, oversees ordering and refurbishment cycles, and conducts regular audits to identify risks and improvement opportunities. Working with maintenance and engineering teams, the coordinator streamlines sourcing processes, reduces costs, and provides clear reporting on inventory status and departmental spend.

Core Responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:

  • Coordinating the processing and ordering of spare, capital and project parts for the Dept.
  • Assigns, tracks and inspects all parts that have been designated as critical spares for the factory
  • Completes weekly reviews of parts usage and updates tracking sheets as necessary
  • Has a tracking process developed to follow quantity levels of mission critical parts and coordinates repairs to have the parts returned to the site in a timely manner to align with change out cycles. Expedite re-furbished parts
  • Works with reliability engineers to develop solutions in high wear parts by researching alternative solutions
  • Conducts monthly audits of the storeroom to validate processes are being followed. Updates Maintenance Manger and Planners on risks associated to parts on hand.
  • Keeps current with maintenance and factory spend and tracks with the factory checkbook
  • Works with Controller to stay current on PIR processing and PO completion by driving team members to finalize PIR's in a timely manner
  • Reports out on weekly zero inventory reports on factory risks and actions taken to lower risk by driving vendors to deliver in a timely manner.
  • Implements new processes in ordering and receiving methods that increases storeroom stock levels
  • Keep records on all maintenance related to the parts associated with Line 2 at PTC. Has diagrams developed to be able to identify parts as needed. This work is completed in conjunction with the Planners. Maintains all drawings that are developed to out source rolls and other parts to move away from the OEM to provide better pricing and part delivery issues.
  • Develop and oversee all category A parts for the storeroom. Completes classification of parts
  • Begins process with Reliability Engineer to develop BOM's for the department.
  • Takes on process to Kit parts so down day we have the necessary parts- When process is developed turn over to the MOR Supervisor
  • Maintains "checkbook" for the department to include engineering spend that goes into the maintenance cost centers
  • Recognizes a path to reverse engineer costly OEM parts needs and out source's the priority for additional purchasing paths
  • As the first processes are established the role will transition into more around developing solutions to find more reliable parts and lower failures points that exist on the line.
  • Develop more robust processes in ordering and keeping the necessary parts in the storeroom.
  • Set ordering cycles to match how we are consuming parts and supplies
  • Audit spend and develop ways to lower cost OEM vs local shops
  • Stays ahead of future down day needs by forecasting upcoming needs with long lead times to ensure we have the right parts the align with the down day schedule
  • Works with the engineering team to take deep dives into system issues and offer possible solutions to remedy the issue.
  • Provides proper reporting and communication for updates. Keeps running log of spend and level of dollars associated with stores.
  • Works with engineering on capital needs and pushing the need for ordering capital parts
  • Maintains spend on monthly obligations such as rental equipment, service contracts and revolving spend
