The Raw Material Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing incoming raw materials for International Cellulose Corporation's cellulose manufacturing plant.
This role supports uninterrupted production by ensuring raw materials are:
- Ordered
- Received
- Stored
- Monitored
- Verified accurately
to meet plant operating needs.
The position partners with:
- Plant Leadership
- Corporate Planning
- Purchasing
- Shipping & Receiving
- Production Teams
to maintain inventory accuracy, lead cycle count activities, coordinate inventory control processes, support physical inventories, manage supplier and material availability, and help meet customer service, cost, and production objectives.
This role requires regular presence in the yards and on the plant floor to:
- Monitor and verify inventory
- Confirm material movement
- Resolve inventory variances
- Support efficient day-to-day plant operations
Essential Functions
- Plan, manage, and order cellulose-based raw materials, paper fiber, packaging, and production supplies to support uninterrupted plant production.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and compliance through cycle counts, audits, physical and tagged inventories, and verification of material receipts, issues, transfers, and consumption.
- Complete month-end inventory reconciliations and process usage corrections, material variances, and inventory adjustments in accordance with site procedures.
- Oversee purchasing activities, monitor supplier performance and shortages, maintain vendor relationships, and coordinate material requirements with internal departments.
- Coordinate third-party material planning, transportation, tolling, outside processing, and vendor-managed inventory activities as assigned.
- Support the storage, staging, handling, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, and production supplies throughout the yard, warehouse, and plant.
- Communicate inventory findings, material risks, and supply needs to production, purchasing, finance, and management.
- Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives related to material flow, inventory accuracy, raw material usage, supplier performance, waste reduction, 5S, TPM, and plant operations.

Education
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field
Experience
Required:
- Three to five years of purchasing and/or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred:
- Paper industry knowledge
Qualifications
Required:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other computer skills necessary to fulfill position requirements
- Mathematical skills necessary to fulfill position requirements
- Self-motivated professional with a high degree of initiative
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- SAP experience
