The Project Engineer position is needed to support the Fremont manufacturing facility by leading engineering projects that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and cost effectiveness. This role ensures that capital investments, equipment upgrades, and process improvements are properly planned, executed, and sustained to meet operational and business objectives.

The Project Engineer applies engineering expertise and structured project management practices to protect plant assets, improve the working environment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position works cross‑functionally with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to translate operational needs into effective engineering solutions. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and supports plant performance through World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering projects involving new equipment, process improvements, and system modifications.
  • Plan and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and cost controls.
  • Perform engineering calculations, evaluations, and cost estimates.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings, specifications, documentation, and safety procedures.
  • Apply WCM and Six Sigma tools to reduce defects and improve performance.
    Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and operator handoff.
  • Conduct training to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
    Participate in incident and near‑miss investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Support and sustain 5S systems and workplace organization standards.

Certain states require pay information be included in job postings. The national base pay range for this position is $81,500 to $126,500 per year. The actual base salary offered will vary based on factors such as geographic location, internal equity, and the candidate's job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. The target bonus for this role is 10% of base salary, based on company and individual performance measures.The total target cash compensation range (base salary plus annual bonus) for this position is $89,650 to $139,150 per year.

Requirements

This role is intended for an engineering professional with strong technical capability, project management experience, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple projects while collaborating across departments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • 2-10 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience in project engineering, including equipment design, process improvement, and project execution.Proficiency with CAD software and ability to read and develop technical drawings
  • Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and industrial safety standards
  • Experience with Six Sigma, WCM, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred
