JOB SUMMARY:
Set up and operate machine tools including Manual Lathes, Manual Milling Machines, Grinders, to aid in the manufacturing of machine rotary dressers according to blueprint specifications, instructions and standard chart. Applies general knowledge of machining techniques and methods dealing with .002mm (.0000080") tolerances. Uses precision measuring instruments to confirm conformity to order. Perform other duties assigned by Department Supervisor
JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
ØRead and reviews work order instructions and blueprint specifications.
ØSecure necessary raw materials, fixtures, punches, tools, gauges, etc. for the job.
ØSet up and operate specified machines, making machine adjustments to produce required results.
ØPerform own inspections (Visual, Optically, Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Indicators, Air Gages, etc.)
ØProcess parts as needed including samples.
ØUse a variety of hand and power tools common to the trade.
ØMaintain accurate records and logs of processes, materials and results.
ØAssure tools and machines are maintained in clean and proper condition for usage.
ØFollow all safety procedures, including wearing of required protective equipment.

JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an individual who is flexible and a team player. The applicant must be able to work with deadlines and production schedules to assure a quality product is delivered on time to the customers. A High School diploma or its equivalency is required, technical school training, apprenticeship program or equivalent is preferred. In addition, the candidate must possess skill and knowledge in set-up, adjustment and operation of machine shop equipment. Ability to read and interpret work orders, charts and blueprints and specifications, as well as skill and knowledge necessary in utilizing shop math and measuring instruments is required. Must be able to measure and hold Tolerance levels of .002mm (.0000080"). Adherence to Quality Policy and Standard Operating Procedures and knowledge of those procedures will be a part of the daily process. Must be motivated, focused, and clear thinking. Ability to work safely and utilize good housekeeping is mandatory.
