About the role:
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate with experience in development and/or implementation of multiphase flow models to expand the ability of our flagship multi-physics product, Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
The specific area of focus will be the development and implementation of multiphase models using the Eulerian methodology.
The successful candidate will report to the program manager of the Eulerian Multiphase Program 1, which belongs to the Multiphase Flow Department.
What you'll be doing:
Drive Innovation in Simulation Software Development:
· Contribute to groundbreaking, long-term projects focused on advancing multiphase models, with a primary emphasis on the Eulerian methodology.
Build and Enhance Cutting-Edge Frameworks:
· Develop and maintain a highly structured, intuitive framework that empowers the seamless integration of physical models within our simulation software.
Craft Robust, Efficient Code:
· Implement high-quality, reliable, and optimized code to meet the rigorous demands of modern simulation technologies.
Ensure Excellence in Software Performance:
- Lead efforts in software verification and validation, ensuring every feature meets the highest standards.
- Participate in proactive maintenance, including bug fixes, code refinement, and enhancements to existing capabilities.
Collaborate for Success:
- Engage in peer-based code and design reviews to uphold best practices and foster innovation.
- Work as a vital part of a cross-functional software development team, ensuring new models integrate seamlessly with existing features.
Connect and Share Knowledge:
· Collaborate closely with colleagues across our global development organization, exchanging ideas and insights to shape the future of simulation technology.
What you'll bring:
Master's Degree or higher in a related field (computer science, applied mathematics, or engineering) or significant post-graduate industry experience
Required technical experience
Good understanding of physics and modeling concepts relevant for multiphase flows.
Good understanding of numerical methods.
Expertise in GPU programming and architectures, with an understanding of hybrid CPU/GPU development, including optimizing performance and scalability for parallel computing applications.
At least 2 years of experience of software development in a professional or academic environment.
Experience with multi-team, collaborative software development including source control (git) and collaborative design and code reviews.
Expertise in object-oriented C++ software development.
Working knowledge of standard C++ Design Patterns and STL.
Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and to concisely present data.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
