Our site in Orange, CT is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is primarily repsonsible fto maintain and/or incrase our profitability by coordinating all activity related to raw material nventory, in partnership with the Finishing goods inventory team member. The role will ensure consistent material flow, ensure material is correctly identified ,quality control, traceability of product.

The responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain proper identification and traceability of materials (visible and legible labeling) as well as their requirements (heat numbers, certifications).
  • Verify accuracy of materials requested on work orders and ensure timely delivery to production work centers.
  • Review and respond to daily material needs and priorities to achieve company targets/optimize customer OTD.
  • Pull raw materials according to bill of materials and routing and ensure usages are correct.
  • Record material usage and/or transfers in QAD (weigh physical inventory moving to and from production).
  • Verify production transactions for scrap and material consumption are accurate to ensure ERP/MRP system health.
  • Transport physical material scrap to designated area safely and coordinate collection operation as needed.
  • Safely move raw materials using approved equipment.
  • Ensure hazardous materials (oils, adhesives, cleaners) are stored per SDS requirements, and keep selective materials segregated to avoid cross-contamination (ex: stainless vs. carbon steel).
  • Place materials in assigned racks, bins or shelves per storage map and systematically perform transfer.
  • Proactively engage and implement procedures to ensure that accurate inventory levels are present.
  • Coordinate inventory/cycle count program.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate with internal stake holders.
  • Provide backup support to Finished Goods Inventory Control Team member as needed during busy times or absences.
  • Other tasks or projects as assigned.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $21.60 to $26.40 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, shift differential, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $49,400.00 to $60,400.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.]

  • High school diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels in the organization - Required
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to manage and prioritize multiple requests - Required
  • Ability to interface across functions and provide clear, accurate and concise information - Required
  • Working knowledge of standard office technologies, including Microsoft 365, MS Word, Excel, web browsers, email, electronic calendar, etc. - Required
  • Knowledge of technology, online tools and web interfaces - Required
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software - Preferred
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Participation in forklift certification, PPE and Safety training
  • Ability to navigate computer software as necessary without third party assistance
  • Availability for overtime as needed
