What's the job?

Employees will be responsible for the working in the trailer loading operation which includes operating a forklift, handling inventory, working in & around semi-trailers, understanding the safe movement of traffic in & out of the trailer loading area, and the securing of trailers for loading.

Shift: 2nd (3pm-11pm)
Compensation: $21.00/hour

Primary Functions:

• Understand Pedestrian & Mobile Equipment safety in the work area
• General housecleaning of the work area
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules
• Able to understand and apply all safety procedures
• Understand and follow all SOPs related to the Distribution Trailer Loading operations
• Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures
• Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs
• Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders
• Proper use of necessary PPE required in the Plant work areas
• Ability to operate safely a powered industrial vehicle (forklift)
• Proper transport and stacking of board in a safe and productive manner
• Proper loading of board onto flatbed & cabana trailers
• Ensuring risers are removed from all bays when empty
• Operation of propane powered forklifts to load, unload, transport and stack materials
• Completion of pre -shift / walk around inspections of forklifts
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as cleaning, lubricating, fueling or replacing propane tanks
• Proper placement of risers on board units in the warehouse
• Complete inventory security in the loading process
• Understand safety procedures on semi-trucks & trailers
• Could be reassigned and required to perform other duties as requested
• Assist in any duties deemed necessary for Successful Department Performance

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work overtime as needed for business.
• Ability to work in office or warehouse setting, including various climate environments
• Ability to work in warehouse floor elements, including dust, noise & odors
• Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as required

Physical Demands:

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats
• Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds
