WHAT - Summary & Purpose of the Position
The Manager, Asset Operations - Sub Team Planner (STP) is to work as the main point of operational support to the Asset Sub Teams.
Fully embedded in the Asset Centric Model, they serve as the strategic planning anchor for the Asset Sub Teams, ensuring that operational execution is fully aligned with the asset strategy. Acting as the right hand to the Sub Team Lead, the STP is responsible for designing, maintaining, and driving the execution of integrated sub team plans, ensuring that all deliverables are anticipated, sequenced, and tracked with precision.
This role requires a proactive and structured planning mindset, capable of translating strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps, identifying critical paths, and managing interdependencies across functions. The STP ensures that sub team contributions are delivered on time, within budget, and with full transparency to the Asset Core Team. They also play a key role in scenario planning, risk mitigation, and resource forecasting, enabling informed decision-making and agile course correction.
In addition to asset-specific responsibilities, the STP may lead or contribute to transversal initiatives within GPO, with a focus on planning excellence, operational efficiency, and process optimization.
WHAT - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies
Sub Team Operational Leadership
Work in partnership with the Sub Team Lead, and Sub Team Functions' representatives to create and maintain sub team's operational roadmap derived from overall asset strategy execution (including LCM and partner activities)
Create an environment that fosters personal investment and excellence and nurtures commitment to common goals.
Facilitate the process for evaluation of alternative options (scenarios) to deliver sub team objectives.
Facilitate win/win solutions for sub team conflicts with big picture in mind.
Sub Team Operational Management
Lead the development and continuous refinement of the Integrated Sub Team Plan, ensuring it reflects strategic priorities, functional inputs, and interdependencies. The plan should be a living document, updated regularly (at least once a month) to reflect progress, risks, and changes in scope.
Establish robust planning processes, including milestone mapping, scenario planning, and assumption validation, to support decision-making and ensure alignment with the global asset plan.
Drive planning discipline across the sub team, ensuring that timelines, deliverables, and resource needs are clearly defined, tracked, and communicated.
Champion planning tools and methodologies, ensuring consistent use across sub teams and enabling accurate reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
Facilitate planning workshops and alignment sessions, bringing together cross-functional stakeholders to co-create and validate the sub team roadmap.
Ensure connection and alignment between sub team plan and global integrated asset plan through close collaboration with the Sub Team Lead and the Asset Operations Lead (AOL)
Create and maintain the Sub Team Assumptions slide as a key input to the sub team plan, scenario planning, risk analysis, budget, and valuation.
Define the interdependent deliverables and ensures that quality, risk, cost, time are managed within the overall approved plan to drive delivery of sub team roadmap milestones and objectives on time and on budget.
Drive milestone decision point planning and associated deliverables across functions to achieve the overall sub team's objectives.
Clearly defines the critical path and generates clear decision criteria for the sub team deliverable roadmap.
Closely and proactively monitors the execution of sub-team plan, measures results, communicates deviations/discrepancies to Sub Team Lead and AOL, specifically focusing on:
Deliverables on time / at risk
Key milestones
Budget / Resource Contingencies
Resource constraints if required.
Identified operational challenges and deviations and drive correction of deviation to ensure successful sub team delivery.
Serve as the central operational point of contact for team members and Sub Team Lead.
Ensure decisions and actions are taken and tracked in due time.
Responsible for ensuring that all the functions deliver with precise execution, in time and within budgets.
Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of IPSEN activities. Always follow IPSEN policies, procedures, and processes (including GPO ones, such as governance process)
Actively adhere to a Quality Management System (QMS) that supports GxPs and Regulatory requirements and satisfy all internal quality and external regulatory authority expectations.
