CertainTeed Canada, Inc. - Rexwood specializes in manufacturing custom wood acoustic panels and ceilings that combine architectural beauty with refined sound performance. Through micro-perforation, grooving, and engineered substrates, we deliver acoustic solutions tailored to unique design and performance goals.

We are currently seeking an Estimator who enjoys working at the intersection of construction documents, materials, and cost data, and who takes pride in producing accurate, thoughtful quotations that set projects up for success.

This role is well suited for someone who is analytical, detail-driven, and motivated by collaboration. As an Estimator, you will work closely with Project Managers, vendors, and technical staff to develop pricing, assess scope, and support project handoff from quoting through award.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing a strong understanding of project scope, specifications, and priorities through drawings, schedules, and correspondence
• Reviewing architectural drawings and project documents to complete material takeoffs, identify scope inclusions, and quantify costs
• Preparing detailed quotations and pricing packages for Project Managers and clients
• Requesting and evaluating pricing from vendors and subcontractors, comparing options, and coordinating clarifications as required
• Documenting assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications to ensure transparent and accurate proposals
• Updating and maintaining pricing databases, material cost keys, and vendor information
• Supporting Project Managers during bid reviews and project award stages by providing cost breakdowns, scope insights, and material recommendations
• Preparing contract documentation for vendors and subcontractors following project award
• Assisting with handoff documentation for the production team and supporting startup and close-out documentation when required
• Tracking market trends and supplier pricing to support competitive and informed estimating
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors
• Maintaining accurate internal records and communicating cost discrepancies or scope issues in a clear, professional manner
• Contributing to a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment while following company policies

Our ideal candidate brings:

• Experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the manufacturing, construction or building products industry
• Confidence reading and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is an asset
• A high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple bids and deadlines
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative mindset paired with initiative and accountability
