The Quarry Operator is responsible for performing tasks in the Quarry operating mobile equipment. The operator will operate equipment safely and be a positive asset to the team helping achieve our goals with respect to quality, housekeeping and cost reduction. Operator will make sure his/her activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, policies, and procedures. This position reports directly to the Quarry Working Foreman.KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ABILITIES): Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED along with a CDL class B with tanker endorsement license. Safe driving record with no significant incidents on the MVR. Demonstrated high performance history, proven ability to execute and get results. This position requires an understanding of the production operation and its practices and procedures. Must demonstrate core competencies of engagement in safe work behaviors, effective communications, listening, and organizational skills. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, accept criticism, deal calmly and effectively with all levels of employees, whether internal or external, sensitivity to other's needs, and maintain a positive demeanor. Must be able to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs. Extended work hours, weekend and holidays may be required. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Quarry and Manufacturing plant areas are not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Environment is not climate controlled. Manufacturing processes involve granules, crushed rock, and dust. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, bobcat loaders, and heavy duty mining equipment.

• Perform pre-shift inspections on all equipment and write up work requests if needed to make sure equipment is safe to operate. • Maximize loads to and from the Mill to keep operating costs down. • Operate the Quarry equipment in a manner as to reduce maintenance costs, breakdowns and unnecessary repairs. • Support World Class Manufacturing activities including all pillar programs as directed by management • Coordinate activities with equipment vendors, equipment service contractors, as well as drilling and blasting contractor • Attend monthly and daily safety meetings as required by all employees • Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving as well as supporting activities such as Maintenance and Engineering • Attend meetings concerning productivity and safety as well as daily Standard Work initiatives • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident free and healthy work environment, eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations, which may lead to human injury and or property damage • Report all EH&S incidents - Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage • Conduct SMAT Audits and Gensuite reporting • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions • Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position Risk Analysis, JSA's and SOP's • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
