Summary / purpose of the position
Fondation Ipsen is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with rare diseases through education, outreach, and collaboration. The foundation fosters a global community that connects scientists, healthcare professionals, patients, and advocates. Our mission is to spread knowledge about rare diseases and create networks that support patients and their families.
In this role, the intern will be responsible for:
Supporting the Foundation's awareness efforts on social media
Creating content for the website
Help promote the Foundation's publishing efforts through targeted outreach
Provide general support to the Foundation's overall activities

Supporting the Foundation's awareness efforts on social media:
As part of our mission to educate and spread awareness, you will help create new, innovative ways to communicate about rare diseases by creating content for social media platforms. You will find new angles to talk about rare disease and craft compelling storytelling to educate the public on the challenges the rare community faces. You will also support in keeping a content calendar, following trends and managing our social media community by answering to messages and emails.
Creating content for the website
You will learn the basics of Wordpress to work on updating our website with articles about the Foundations' latest news, create content (podcasts, blogs). You will help keep our visual identity consistent and ensure the website reflects our activities accurately. You will connect with our agency partners to learn the basis of SEO positioning and data monitoring.
Help promote the Foundation's publishing efforts through targeted outreach
You will work on connecting with patient advocates, influencers and educators worldwide to promote our free books to those who need it most. You will participate in expanding and strengthening our connection to the community, and you will support by reaching out relevant stakeholders of the rare disease landscape.
Provide general support for Foundation's overall activities
Alongside experienced individuals, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that improve the lives of patients and their families and receive mentorship from experienced professionals in the NGO and health advocacy sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help manage the content calendar and engage with the online community, track engagement
- Create and update website content, draft articles and updates about the Foundation's work.
- Coordinate with agency partners and assist with WordPress updates.
- Assist with outreach for the Foundation's publishing efforts: contact influencers, educators, and patient advocates to promote our free resources.
- Conduct research and support network building: identify patient associations, youth advocates, and key organizations in the rare disease space.
- Provide general support to the team: assist with logistics, event photography, and other communication tasks as needed.
This position will allow you to gain:
- First-hand experience in communication and outreach within an international health foundation: you will work directly with the Fondation Ipsen team and partners worldwide, giving you insight into how global awareness campaigns are designed, executed, and evaluated.
- Skills in digital content creation and management: through hands-on work with social media communication, website updates, video editing, graphic design, and podcast support, you will strengthen your ability to produce high-quality content tailored to diverse audiences.
- Practical experience in community management and audience engagement: By helping monitor social platforms, interacting with our online community, and coordinating our content calendar, you will develop a strong understanding of how to build and maintain engaged digital audiences.
- An understanding of strategic communication in the global health and rare disease space: You will learn how messaging, storytelling, and outreach strategies contribute to raising awareness and supporting patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Opportunities to contribute directly to impactful educational initiatives: By helping promote and distribute Fondation Ipsen's free resources, you will play a role in ensuring that valuable content reach patient communities, educators, and advocates around the world.
Knowledge, abilities & experience
Education / Certifications:
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in communications, media or journalism.

- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of French or another language is a plus.
Key Technical Competencies Required
- Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.
- Interest in science communication, global health, and patient advocacy.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging content and propose new ideas for campaigns.
- Basic skills in digital content creation (e.g., Canva, simple video or graphic tools).
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), and website management (WordPress is a plus).
- Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and motivated attitude.
