Mission of the role

We are looking for a Process Safety and Environmental Engineer to join our QHSE team. This role is key in ensuring the safety of our industrial processes and securing full compliance with environmental regulations across the plant.

Responsabilités:

Responsabilitites

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management, including HAZOP studies, risk analyses, safety audits, and verification of instrumental safety systems (SIL).
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, managing permits, emissions reporting, waste management, and communication with regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001) and contribute to operational excellence programs.
  • Investigate process safety and environmental incidents, prepare reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Support new projects by identifying risks, participating in design reviews, and ensuring alignment with corporate safety requirements.
  • Lead corporate reporting (KPIs), documentation management, training of new employees, and preparation of emergency drills.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, maintenance, and sustainability teams to promote continuous improvement and high standards across the plant.

Profil:

Hard Skills

  • Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Risk analysis methodologies: HAZOP, ATEX, SEVESO.
  • Internal and external audits: ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety regulations: APQ, RAP, REBT, RAT, RAE, RIF, RITE.
  • Ability to interpret P&ID diagrams and understanding of chemical process operations.
  • Instrumented Safety Systems (SIL) verification and management.
  • Environmental compliance management: emissions, waste, wastewater, PRTR, CO₂ and GHG reporting.
  • Use of tools and platforms: SAP, Office, SharePoint, Ecoiuris, and control systems such as Delta V and IO Analytics.
  • Technical documentation management and preparation of corporate KPIs and reporting.
  • Knowledge of analytical methods and laboratory techniques used in industrial chemical processes.
  • 4 years experience in process industries in roles related to process safety or environmental management.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in: Chemical Engineering
  • Additional desirable training:
    • Process Safety Management (PSM)
    • HAZOP or other operational risk analysis methodologies
    • Industrial and environmental regulatory frameworks
    • ATEX, SEVESO, waste, effluents, emissions and GHG regulations
  • Languages: English / French (valued)
