Description du poste
Mission:
The Material Operation Specialist will ensure a consistent implementation of PPG global supply management strategies and policies in the plants under his/her supervision. They are responsible for the execution/implementation of contracts agreed by Category Managers/Directors, from both suppliers and PPG's obligations standpoint. They also are managing a local portfolio and needs to apply effective strategic sourcing practices to achieve a competitive edge. They are the interface between the SBU, local organizations and the sourcing department. They also are responsible for ensuring that transactions are accurately and timely processed by the vendors and internal PPG departments.
Accountabilities:
1. Ensure a consistent implementation of PPG global supply management strategies and policies. The key stakeholders include the SBU local organizations locations, Operations Manager and Local Supply Chain who are the panners to deliver the expected goals.
2. Promote and implements best practices in terms of effective and lean processes with alignment with business unit requirements.
3. Ensure that the agreed upon conditions negotiated between the Category Managers and the suppliers are implemented completely and accurately, including Consignment Stocks, Vendor Managed Inventory, Packaging switches, Payment Terms, Supply Chain Finance, Rebates…
4. Ensure that purchasing process and its corresponding transactions are effectively monitored by ensuring that Procurement Operations Specialist give support on:
- clarify price discrepancies
- payment issues
- follow up on supplier's claims
- validates or refuses extra cost
5. Follows-up on supplier claims or reselling of raw materials, validates or refutes extra costs (demurrage/taxi) and can effectively track PPV/IPV
6. Effectively negotiate purchases delegated by the Category manager group that might include lower volumes Raw Materials/Packages, suppliers or distributors below 200,000 euros by applying effective strategic sourcing practices to achieve a competitive edge.
7. Coordinate the on-boarding of new suppliers, lead and drive alternative suppliers/product approvals with the technical teams, local manufacturing and logistic teams.
8. Monitor supplier performance through tracking and rating the supplier performance as well as working with the supplier at reducing variability in their supply/materials
9. Active participation in developing of effective supply processes with the target to achieve synergy savings, coordinating order consolidation through preferred suppliers, evaluating EOQ regularly, evaluating the use of the raw material HUB
10. Handle and coordinate issues with suppliers such as urgent supply needs, allocation or force majeure situations.
11. Ensure effective communication with the Category manager team members your are supporting includingqueries on operations & data details
12. Ensure best practices are in place with local Operations and Supply Chain. This includes the participation and organization to OPUS meeting.
