Your Key Mission
As Senior Intellectual Property Counsel, you will provide strategic, forward-thinking legal guidance on intellectual property (IP) matters to protect, secure, and enforce Pernod Ricard Group's IP rights worldwide. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the value and reputation of our iconic brands while enabling innovation and business growth.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Protecting & Defending Our Intellectual Property
- Manage and oversee IP portfolios across various Pernod Ricard Group entities.
- Provide strategic counsel to cross-functional teams - including Marketing, M&A, Innovation, Digital and Communications - to identify, assess and mitigate IP risks.
- Design and implement proactive global brand protection strategies to preserve the integrity of our trademarks and assets.
- Collaborate with external counsel worldwide to anticipate emerging IP challenges and ensure optimal protection strategies.
- Develop and deliver IP training programs to raise awareness, promote best practices, and foster a culture of IP compliance and excellence across the Group.
2. Enabling Innovation & Creativity
- Support innovation by providing pragmatic legal guidance on new product developments and marketing initiatives.
- Partner with R&D teams to protect inventions and creations, including through patents and trade secrets strategies.
- Contribute to securing the responsible and strategic use of new technologies, including generative AI.
- Assess and support licensing opportunities that enhance and elevate our brands.
3. Driving Talent Development & Process Excellence
- Mentor and support members of the IP team, sharing expertise particularly on complex or sensitive matters to foster continuous learning and development.
- Proactively suggest improvements to existing ways of working to enhance efficiency, agility, and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
About You
Education
- Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law.
- Admission to the Bar (CAPA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Intellectual Property Law.
- At least 3-4 years in a specialized IP law firm.
- Experience within the IP department of an international group would be a strong asset.
