The continuous growth of EDF Renewables, along with the increasing complexity and size of projects, brings light to the need for a common approach in order to establish and ensure steadiness and consistency, leverage on the projects volumes and capitalize on experience in real time.

As a response to that, EDF Renewables is seeking for its the Industry Division a

PMO Senior Project Manager Renewable Energy (M/F)

Main duties of the role include the preparation of proposals and bid submissions, the optimization of CAPEX/OPEX estimates and time baselines, the analysis of threats and the opportunities, the negotiation and the contracting of the execution phase, etc, while ensuring consistency and alignment with the requirements, standards and policies of EDF Renewables Group and in particular those of the Industry Division, as well the technological developments of the Sector.

The role will also advise and provide direct support to the community of international project managers on technical and project management issues (tools, methods, learnings, etc.) and as well advise and assist sponsors and project directors in the definition and application of governance processes, in alignment with the EDF Group policies.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice President of the PMO division and overseeing a regional portfolio of projects, you will undertake some of the responsibilities, tasks and duties listed below:

  • Be responsible to foster a pro-active Health and Safety culture within the project organizations and Units of your perimeter as well with the main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers;

  • Act as technical leader for renewable energy international projects ensuring always the technical solution proposed is optimized and with an acceptable risk profile;

  • Manage a project team of engineers, procurement managers and O&M specialists;

  • Manage the negotiation of the contracts that will govern the execution of the project;

  • Closely work with the Business Development Project Team and with the Finance Team to optimize the project;

  • Be responsible for the technical inputs of the project's Business Plan;

  • Ensure a consistent approach (technical and commercial) on the projects of the area, in alignment of the good practices, Policies and guidelines of the Industry Division;

  • Assess and ensure the project impact and value creation against strategic directives;

  • Provide appropriate recommendations or options for action;

  • Influence and manage the process of technical resource allocation;

  • Support and assist Project Managers and Sponsors to set-up and enforce project governance principles on selected projects across the group in order to ensure consistency with group policies and best practices;

  • Facilitate and occasionally participate in strategic or operational bodies; project boards or technical steering committees;

  • Provide regular update on your project to the management and to the governance bodies in place;

  • Organize and monitor project reviews, peer reviews, technical rescue missions to support projects of your perimeter;

  • Support and assist project teams of the Group on project and contract management matters, processes, tools and methods;

The position contributes to the regular updates of the "Industry project pipeline" with the workstreams of your perimeter and communicates information and recommendation for governance actions and decisions; such as deciding when programs and projects should proceed, be reprioritized, be changed to adapt to strategic changes, be terminated or suspended before the originally planned completion dates.

As PMO Senior Project Manager Renewable Energy you will also contribute to the animation of the contract management community of EDF Renewables.

Description du profil

The successful candidate should have a Master's degree in Engineering, Business management or equivalent and minimum 5 years of experience in a project management position delivering Renewable Energy services for Wind, Solar, BESS and hybrid projects. A proven successful previous International experience is a must.

Added to that you have a significant and relevant experience in Renewable Energy Projects with emphasis on both the upstream phase (competitive bidding, contracting, pre-construction...) and the downstream phase (project construction and delivery monitoring, contract management, support to local project teams) to undertake the technical lead responsibility and manage the technical workstreams (engineering, procurement and construction) of various projects applying a regional project portfolio approach.

COMPETENCIES

  • Project Management: understands the application of all related Knowledge Areas (scope, cost, time, quality, HSE, risk, communications, etc), able to coordinate several workstreams running in parallel. PMP certification is a plus.

  • Technical Management: understands common fields of engineering (civil, electrical) with strong knowledge and understanding of Solar, Wind and Storage technologies and in general the renewables Sector..

  • Contract Management: understands interactions between contract and project management. Familiar with the contractual schemes and frameworks used in the Sector; incl. PPA, EPC, O&M, MSA/TSIA, BoS/BoP, ...

  • Substantial experience in power plants and in particular in project management of renewable projects (either in development, bidding, construction or operation phase)

  • Experience in management of multi split construction contracts is a plus

  • Extended IT knowledge: M365, project management and scheduling tools


HARD SKILLS

  • Fluent English communication (oral and written)

  • French as a second language is a plus

  • Chinese/Hindi/Arabic/Spanish or other languages is a nice to have

Job location: Nanterre (92). Located at a 5-minute walk from the Nanterre-Préfecture RER A station, our office based in Origine building benefits from a strategic geographical position in the extension of the La Défense business district.
