Adecco Monaco is recruting a CONTROL INVESTMENT SPECIALIST for a permanent contract in private banking.
The position :
The Private Bank Investment Control Team is seeking an experienced risk and control professional to join the Investment Control team to achieve its business objectives in a controlled, efficient and effective manner in Monaco
The role holder will be responsible for the identification, assessment and management of risks to Bank PLC Monaco as well as Private Asset Management SAM company enabling future business growth in a safe way, through proactive risk management techniques
He will conduct independent testing and reviews for the Investment teams, ensure the Business meets specific obligations as required by external and internal auditors and regulators and be responsible for evolving the Business oversight with proactive and control approach across all relevant dimensions (operational, regulatory, financial, fraud, and conduct)
Core accountabilities
Ensure that the risk and control framework underpinning the business operates adequately and effectively. This includes ensuring that an effective governance is in place for the function, that policies, standards and procedures are embedded and monitored for effectiveness, and driving the effective escalation of risk and control issues.
Ensure the management and discharging of all Operational Risk and other Risk, Compliance and Audit (2nd line and 3rd line) requirements. This includes the active management of actions from risk events,, audits and compliance (e.g. Monitoring & Testing) reviews with the business, assisting the timely and high standard response to regulatory requests, Training & Competence/Conduct Risk schemes, product suitability, response to complaints, management of conflicts of interest, issues, etc. It also includes liaison with other control functions - taking the lead on fostering and managing productive relationships with Compliance, Legal, Risk and Internal Audit, as well as providing support to interaction with regulators.
Working directly with the Head of EME Investment Control to ensure controlled end-to-end product lifecycle management, driving appropriate new product approvals and product discontinuation, back book management, and participation in product family reviews and assist in driving resolution of issues.
Run an effective '1B' control monitoring function by means of an independent control testing programme. Manage remediation of identified control issues and participate to the Control and Governance Pack elaboration
Assist and guide the Monaco Investments strategy from a risk perspective: Actively support and participate in the management of BAU Processes and projects ensuring that a robust control framework and Business principles are followed for change. Support business process / procedure to align to standards
Embed the right risk culture: Help influence positive regulatory compliance and in internal policies are maintained, longer-term regulatory planning is done and compliance is sustainable; drive and show progress towards / maintaining a risk and control environment that is not out of appetite.
Acts as a member of local Business & Risk Committees, as a risk partner reporting as needed on relevant activities.
Supervisory responsibilities
While not initially having direct line management responsibility, the role holder should have direct experience of successfully managing a team and a proven track record in project management .in addition they will be able to demonstrate experience in upgrading and re-organising teams to maximise performance.
Role requirements :
You will possess deep skills in control, audit, process flows and risk management as they relate to a financial services firm. They will possess the ability to apply a control perspective to all aspects of product and investment management. They will possess a strong understanding of the key aspects of regulation impacting on a Private Bank Business (e.g. understanding of regulations including MiFID, Volcker, Market Abuse, Cross-Border, etc) and the Management Company. Strong investment product knowledge is required.

Professional/technical experience
The role holder will possess work experience within Financial Services, preferably with a large portion in a risk or compliance role, an in-depth knowledge of the banking industry and a solid understanding of the Private Bank sector and the associated client needs.
This job requires the incumbent to evaluative some complex scenarios and will require judgement and analytical skills.
Managerial experience
Dynamic, experienced and pragmatic, this person must possess the credibility and gravitas to work with senior members of the Private Bank Investments teams and local management teams, to be able to participate to issues resolutions and influence change. The incumbent should be capable to work across platform processes and regulation building and applying control standards. They should be able to work with different backgrounds and to participate in building a cohesive and collaborative united risk team. Equally important is an ability to work with people from all countries and cultures professionally and pragmatically and to effect change in a collaborative way across a global team.
Degree and masters-educated individual and preferably professional qualification/further education such as; University Degree (BAC +4/5) or higher, CFA preferred,
Good knowledge of the MS Office pack including VBA (SQL or similar)
Strong written and verbal communication skills in French & English are a critical requirement of the position.
Salary : 80/85k€ bruts
