As most industries, (re)insurance is heavily impacted by the rise of Data and AI, calling for a profound transformation of our processes, organization and tech. As part of our strategic plan Forward 2026, SCOR is committed to leveraging tech and data to reshape (re)insurance operations, integrating technology into our day-to-day processes and putting data at the core of portfolio performance.
In this transformation, we strongly believe in AI-Augmentation rather than full blown Automation, and see technology as a way to help our experts focus on their expertise and reduce non value added tasks. SCOR has already started that journey, for example by building AI capabilities allowing to summarize key information from lengthy reports used during Underwriting. In order to deliver this AI Augmentation, developing strong Product Management capabilities, at the cross roads of (re)insurance business expertise and tech, is a strategic imperative.
Within the L&H Transformation team, the specific role of Head of L&H Business Origination operations is strategic for the success of our L&H business. Our vision is that AI will help us better manage the full (re)insurance value chain, and especially the end to end treaty underwriting process (including underwriting, pricing, all the necessary sign offs and referrals, etc.). We expect these capabilities will gradually become hygiene for a well performing L&H reinsurer. The Head of L&H Business Origination operations will take an active role in building these capabilities, forming a vision of what an effective treaty underwriting process will look like in the years to come and delivering the Products that will help to support that vision.
Key duties and responsibilities
Strategic Product Vision and Leadership
* Build and deliver a long-term vision of an efficient Business Origination process augmented by Data and AI, as well as the product(s) and digital capabilities that support it:
* Review the end-to-end Treaty underwriting and negotiation process, leveraging data and AI to prioritize the work (e.g. flagging 'simple' renewals), and bring automation to some key tasks (e.g. KYC, review of treaty clauses, alignment with risk appetite and guidelines…), all while ensuring we better reflect the learnings from our experience into treaty underwriting for the benefit of SCOR and our clients
* Build a single source of truth to identify our clients, the treaties associated to them, the services and digital solutions they use, using AI to suggest account plans
* Form a technical understanding of the products to be built/ maintained and contribute to product technical design together with other stakeholders (tech architects, data experts etc.)
* Prioritize key features to be built with the team and stakeholders, always trying to leverage on the Group's existing capabilities rather than creating new ones
* Ensure outcomes are realistic, prioritized and aligned to strategic goals - act as the ultimate responsible for product delivery and makes priority calls as needed
* Build an articulate roadmap of how to get from current state (i.e. products and processes already in place) to desired vision, with clear quarterly OKRs, and share it with key stakeholders
* Main responsible for the agile governance process around treaty underwriting operations:
* Leads Business Analysts, ensuring business requirements are turned into concrete and clear delivery items for tech teams
* Leads and seeks feedback from Subject Matter Experts (Data, Treaty Underwriters, UW Risk Management, Pricing…), who provide the necessary deep business knowledge to achieve the vision
* Empowers teams to shape their roadmap and vision
* Manage financials in alignment with cost controlling team
* Maintains strong communication with the other POs, L&H Transformation Lead and stakeholders and carefully takes their needs into consideration
Stakeholder Engagement
* Facilitate regular communication and updates to stakeholders on progress, outcomes, and challenges.
* Constantly align product goals with business objectives through ongoing collaboration.
* Work hand in hand with other key members of the L&H transformation team, Data team, SCOR Digital Solutions teams and other stakeholders, to manage dependencies but also to frame together a strong vision of the key data points to be collected across the treaty administration process, medical underwriting process, claims referrals process etc. to deliver on our vision.

* Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and product quality.
Governance & Compliance
* Ensure adherence to organizational standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
* Manage budgets and resource allocation within the area.
Innovation & Value Creation
* Encourage experimentation and innovation within product teams.
Evaluate product performance and customer impact to inform future investments
Required experience & competencies
Experience:
* Demonstrable Product Owner experience & mindset
* Strong experience in L&H (re)insurance, with a good understanding of the full L&H reinsurer value chain (from pricing, underwriting, to treaty administration and claims)
* Good understanding of main L&H reinsurance markets and products (across mortality, morbidity and longevity lines)
* Accomplished leader, who has already managed teams
* Experience in leading successful transformations, with a proven track record of new product delivery and process reengineering
